Outbuilding burglarized while owner attends wife’s funeral

Authorities initiated an investigation late last week when a Lawrenceburg man reported that his outbuilding had apparently been burglarized while he was attending his wife’s funeral.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department officers were dispatched to the Academy Drive home at around 2:15 p.m.

The resident reported that someone had pried open a door on the outbuilding and made off with some $2,150 worth of his power tools.

The victim told officers that although he had not noticed the crime immediately, he believed that it had occurred while he was attending his wife’s funeral.

The case currently remains under investigation through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
