Officials with the local Babe Ruth League have hit the ground running after their recent participation in the World Series, working toward projects that will benefit the local program.

Lawrenceburg City Administrator Chris Shaffer told members of the city council Thursday that bids are currently being accepted for a Babe Ruth lighting project. Shaffer said that bids for lighting at the ball field are being accepted until the deadline of November 12.

A bid opening will be held at 10:00 a .m. on Wednesday, November 13 after which they will move forward with the project.

In addition, City Attorney Alan Betz explained that a representative of the national program has scheduled a visit to Lawrenceburg on November 5 in order to visit the local sports facilities.

Betz said that Lawrenceburg is among the cities being considered to host the organization’s 2015 World Series.
