Loretto Men Escape Injury In Fatal Giles Crash

Two Loretto residents escaped injury Wednesday after becoming involved in a traffic accident that proved fatal for a Giles County teen.

Officials with the Tennessee Highway Patrol report that the crash occurred around 5:00 p.m. at the U.S. Highway 64/Big Dry Creek Road intersection.

Reports show that Makenzie Brianna Myers, 16, of Pulaski, was southbound on Big Dry Creek Road in a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire when she failed to yield to oncoming traffic. Myers pulled into the path of a westbound 2000 Nissan Frontier driven by William Glass, 19, of Loretto.

Glass and his passenger, Jody Shaddix, 20, of Loretto, received medical attention from Giles County EMS at the scene. Myers died from injuries she sustained in the crash.
