Second Meth Lab In Six Months Seized From Greenwood Road Home

For the second time in six months drug agents seized a meth lab during a raid at a Greenwood Road property.

Members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Unit conducted a search at the 225 Greenwood Road home of David Morris Fly last week after obtaining evidence that methamphetamine was being manufactured at the residence.

Department officials report that during the search agents located two active meth labs along with components used to manufacture the drug, and finished product that was ready to be distributed.

Cleanup crews were dispatched to dismantle the labs and properly dispose of the toxic components.

As a result of the raid Fly, age 48, was taken into custody along with forty-one year old Andrew Jay Rochester of 2185 Joann Avenue, Lawrenceburg. Both men were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center on charges that include initiation and promotion of the manufacture of meth, possession of meth for resale, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bond for Fly was set at $122,000 while Rochester was incarcerated under a bond of $135,000.

Fly was arrested during a raid at the property in late April, along with two other individuals. During that raid agents seized active meth labs along with numerous items associated with meth manufacturing, and various other items of drug paraphernalia.

Agents with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division are urging the public to report information regarding suspected drug and other criminal activity. You may contact them by calling the division directly at 931-762-1608.
