Fleeing Arrestee Found Hiding In Restaurant Bathroom

A man who was in the process of being arrested by local police officers fled on foot Friday, and was later located hiding in the bathroom of a Lawrenceburg restaurant.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that deputies, along with officers from the Lawrenceburg Police Department, made their way to Arby’s on North Locust Avenue around 11:a.m. to serve warrants on James Aaron Taylor, age 26.

Deputies report that when they informed Taylor he was being arrested on outstanding warrants for violation of probation and an alias capias, he ran out of the restaurant and across the parking lot in the direction of nearby Advance Auto Parts.

Deputies report that they lost visual contact with Taylor briefly near Cocina Real restaurant. They checked inside and were informed that a man had run inside the restaurant and into the men’s restroom.

Deputies made verbal contact with Taylor through the restroom door, however he refused to open it. They were forced to damage the doorknob in order to open the door, resulting in approximately $200 worth of damage.

Taylor was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center. In addition to the warrant charges, Taylor was booked under charges of evading arrest and escape.
