Vandal Tampers With Lug Nuts
A West Lawrence resident reported to police officers that she had returned to her home to find that someone had tampered with the lug nuts on her vehicle.
The victim, age 29, summoned deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department to her Bryant Road home around 10:00 a.m. Sunday.
The victim told deputies that she had left home with some friends around 4:00 p.m. Saturday, returning around 1:00 a.m. She said she noticed that a front wheel on her 2005 Jeep Liberty was tilted precariously, looking as if the vehicle was about to fall.
Upon inspection, the victim discovered that someone had loosened several lug nuts. She said that three had been removed entirely and were left lying on a running board.
Presently, the matter remains under investigation.
