Woman Arrested Twice In One Night For Driving On Suspended License
Lawrenceburg Now
A Pulaski woman was arrested two separate times Monday night after police officers found that she was driving on a suspended driver’s license.
Reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department show that an officer first stopped the driver of a 2006 Nissan Maxima around 10:30 p.m., after determining that she was traveling at a speed of sixty miles per hour in a thirty-five mile per hour zone. When asked for her license, driver Melissa Lynn Prier, age 31, of 1221 Bethel Road in Pulaski was unable to produce a valid one. Central Dispatch informed officers that her license had been suspended for “accumulation of convictions,” that they had been suspended multiple times, and that she had multiple offenses of failure to appear in court and pay fines and court costs.
Prier was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where she was processed on a charge of driving on a revoked or suspended license.
It was only around two hours later, 12:25 a.m., that the same officers observed Prier again operating a vehicle on a public roadway. She was, again, stopped and arrested. She was transported back to the detention center without incident and booked under a second charge of driving on a revoked or suspended license.
Prier was jailed in lieu of a $1,000 bond. She is scheduled to answer the charges in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on November 6, 2015.
