Record Breaking Month For Goodwill Career Solutions

Press release

August turned out to be a record-breaking month for Goodwill. Career Solutions placed 565 people into jobs in their communities. That’s up from a record-breaking month in July when 419 people were placed in jobs.

This increase is credited to the increase of job fairs. (We have 8 this week - including one in Lawrenceburg on Tuesday)

These record numbers come at a time when Career Solutions is ramping up the number of job fairs they host for business partners.

In August, more than 50 job fairs were conducted at the 23 Goodwill Career Solutions centers. "We are excited to see the growth in job opportunities for our clients," said Betty Johnson, vice president and chief people officer.

"As businesses grow and have the need to add more staff, we plan to work alongside them in identifying and preparing qualified candidates for those job opportunities."

The 565 people who were placed in jobs in August worked an average 34 hours each week and had an average starting wage of $9.18 an hour.

Goodwill Career Solutions center in Lawrenceburg placed 70 people in jobs. That is the highest number of any other Career Solutions center.
