Woman Takes Money And Runs
A Lawrenceburg man reported to law enforcement officers Wednesday that a woman who was visiting his home took the money from his wallet, then ran away.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were dispatched to investigate the matter around 1:30 p.m. The resident, age 47, reported that the woman cleaning his house had brought along a friend that day.
According to the victim it was when he went into another room to change clothes that he heard yelling. He said that the housekeeper told him the woman had taken cash from his wallet, then fled on foot.
The victim pursued the suspect outside, but told officers he was unable to find her. Officers conducted a search of the area, however they, too, were unable to locate her.
The victim’s loss is estimated to be $240. Investigation into the crime is on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
