Three Arrests Made In Saturday Drug Operation

Three individuals were taken into custody when law enforcement officers received a tip regarding a wanted person and possible drug activity at a Mattox Road home early Saturday.

Matthew Shea Stuck, 38, of 418 South Brace Road, Summertown and Brian Lee Mitchell, 41, of 80 Mt. Olive Cemetery Road, Lynnville garnered charges of evading arrest and possession of marijuana for the purpose of resale.

Stuck was additionally served a violation of probation warrant issued through Maury County. Justin Matthew Melton, age 24, of 75 Black Jack Court, Summertown, was charged with possession of marijuana for resale, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that the operation took place at 64 Mattox Road around 2:30 a.m. Deputies report making their way to the address after a concerned citizen reported there was a man there who was wanted in Maury County. The tipster also reported there was marijuana at the home.

When they arrived, deputies report the front door was open and they could see inside the kitchen area one man standing and one man sitting.

When they spotted them, deputies report that one of the men ran to slam the door and turn off lights inside the house. They report they could hear persons moving around inside.

When a female opened a bedroom blind, they requested that she come to the door. She did so, and they report that the man who had closed the door, identified as Melton, came to stand behind her clothed only in a cap and underwear.

The woman told deputies that she had no idea what was going on. She said that she had been asleep with her children when Melton had jumped into the bed. She said that she heard banging on the door and looked out to see deputies. Deputies noted that Melton appeared to be highly intoxicated.

Deputies report finding Mitchell lying in the hallway near the bedrooms. They report that he, too, appeared to be intoxicated. While checking the home they located Stuck hiding in an opening above the washer and dryer. They identified Stuck as the man they had noticed standing in the kitchen before the door was closed.

Deputies report seizing several items of contraband during an ensuing search of the home, including marijuana, a random pill, and items of drug paraphernalia.

All three men are scheduled to answer the charges against them through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on October 15, 2013.
