Doss earns NFIB Guardian of Small Business Award

The National Federation of Independent Business will present state Rep. Barry Doss with its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award Thursday in Lawrenceburg. The presentation is open to the media.

The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. The NFIB Tennessee Leadership Council, an advisory board comprised of NFIB members, voted to present the award to the legislator for supporting small-business issues in this year's session of the General Assembly.

“Barry Doss is a very strong supporter of small business and great voice for free enterprise in the House Business & Utilities Committee and on the House floor,” said Jim Brown, state director of NFIB. “He understands labor and workforce issues especially well, since he owns and operates a small business. NFIB’s members appreciate his principled, civil approach, which makes him highly effective in Nashville. He is truly a Guardian of Small Business.”

Doss’s Guardian Award will be presented at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce’s annual membership meeting on Thursday, Sept. 8, at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at Providence Hall, 26 Public Square, in Lawrenceburg.
