Stranded Motorist Returns To Find Car Missing

A woman who became stranded while driving in the Iron City area last week reported that she returned to get her car only to find that it was missing.

The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she had been driving along Danley Road around noon on Thursday when her 1999 Toyota Camry broke down. She said that she was able to pull into a field, then left the car there until she could get it repaired.

The victim told deputies that she returned to the field around 6:00 p.m. and discovered that her car was missing. Deputies checked with Lawrence Central Dispatch, but indicate that there was no record of the car having been towed.

Investigation in the matter is on-going at the present time. The car is valued at $4,500.
