Stolen Vehicle Totaled

A Lawrenceburg man who reported his vehicle stolen while he was at a West Point creek was later informed that the vehicle had been totaled.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to 112 Hughes Hollow Road Friday evening where they spoke with the victim, a twenty-nine-year-old resident of Lawrenceburg’s Bluff Drive. He told deputies he had been at a creek just off Goslin Branch Road in West Point around 5:00 p.m. when two men he did not know approached him, informing him that two other men were stealing his car.

The car was found almost immediately. It had been crashed on Stingy Ridge Road. Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol were dispatched to investigate the crash. Reports indicate that the 1996 Honda Accord had been totaled. Loss was estimated at $1,200.

Investigation into the matter is continuing at the present time.
