Two residents report vehicle burglaries overnight Sunday

Two Lawrenceburg residents filed complaints with the Lawrenceburg Police Department on Monday after discovering that their vehicles had been burglarized.

Officers spoke with a forty-five year old Sixth Street resident at around 11:30 a.m. who reported someone had gained illegal entry to his 2008 Toyota Camry. A black, Kel-Tec .32 semi-automatic handgun was stolen from the console area of the car along with approximately $17 cash. Total loss was estimated at $292

.At around 4:45 p.m. officers made their way to a Second Street home where the resident, age 42, reported that burglars had entered her unlocked 2007 Hummer Hu3. She said the person responsible had rummaged through the entire vehicle.

A blue iPod Nano was stolen along with $5 in cash. The victim said the locking mechanism on the glove compartment was broken during the commission of the crime. Altogether,

she estimated loss and damages to total $280.At this time the cases remain under investigation through the police department’s Criminal Investigation Division. Anyone who has information helpful to the cases should contact the department at 931-762-2276.
