Car Burglar Leaves Victim’s Baby Picture On Display

Authorities report that the individual who burglarized the vehicle of an Ethridge resident Tuesday night, left the victim’s baby picture displayed inside.

The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she had parked her 2007 Nissan Altima in the driveway of her Mt. Horeb Road home, with the doors locked.

She said that she went to her car Wednesday and noticed that the paint had been damaged around the driver side door handle.

Reports show that the car was locked when the victim discovered the damage. She told officers that a GPS unit had been taken from the dash area along with a custom made, eight-inch knife.

Also, she reported that the culprit had taken her baby picture from a purse in the rear floorboard and left it lying on the console.

Deputies attempted to obtain fingerprint evidence but noted that, “It looked like someone had attempted to wipe down the area where prints should be found.”

Investigation into the crime is currently on-going.
