A Tennessee man faces charges after crashing into a Williamson County deputy early Wednesday morning.

 

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol the crash occurred just before 2:00 a.m. Wednesday morning on Interstate 65 near the Cool Springs Boulevard exit.

The driver Nathaniel Chapuis, 28, crashed his vehicle into Williamson County deputy Seth Obermeyer’s SUV in a construction zone area where the deputy was inside his vehicle with his lights activated.

The THP stated that Chapuis, and deputy Obermeyer were both transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition.

THP confirmed that drugs and alcohol were in Chapuis' system where after being released from the hospital he was transported to the Williamson County jail.

Chapuis is facing charges of aggravated vehicular assault, driving on a revoked license, no seatbelt and open container.
