Teen Accused Of Coercing Witness
A teenager involved in an on-going investigation was accused last week of coercing a potential witness.
The victim of the alleged coercion reported the incident through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday. The victim, age 13, told deputies that the teen in question, age 17, had made threatening statements to two of her friends.
The friends reported that the teen had threatened to “kill” the victim, should she testify against him. In addition, they report he made threats to kill the victim’s mother.
At the current time the complaint has been handed over to investigators with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division for further examination.
