Gun Discharge Causes Slight Injury To Ethridge Policeman

An Ethridge Police Officer sustained a minor injury when his handgun discharged last weekend, however officials report that he is back on the job.

Ethridge officials report that Officer Adam Dixon was cleaning his handgun on Sunday when the incident occurred. Dixon was reportedly in the process of unloading the weapon when a bullet became lodged. The firearm discharged, they report, and the bullet grazed his leg.

As a precaution Dixon was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he underwent numerous tests. Officials indicate x-rays revealed a very slight fracture, but say the injury appeared to pose no problem.

Dixon was treated at the facility, then released. He was returned to duty shortly thereafter.
