Bike Riding Teen Struck By Car

A Lawrenceburg teenager sustained critical injuries when he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle Tuesday evening.

Lawrenceburg Police Chief Judy Moore indicates that the teen, Jazz Simpson, age 14, was riding his bicycle around 7:30 p.m. when the accident occurred. Witness reports indicate that Simpson failed to stop when he approached the Kramer Avenue/Frank Street intersection, running into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

Simpson was slated to be airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, however inclement weather did not allow for the helicopter to land locally. Simpson was instead transported by ambulance to Mt. Pleasant. He was airlifted from there to Vanderbilt.

On Wednesday Simpson was listed in critical but stable condition.
