Renter Of Furnished Apartment Takes All

A West Point man reported to authorities Monday that a renter who had vacated his fully-furnished home recently, had taken his furnishings with her.

Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department caught the 9:00 p.m. callout to 163 Aaron Branch Road where they met with the owner. He stated that he had rented his house, fully furnished, to a woman who now resides on U.S. Highway 64 West. He told deputies that the woman had moved out on Saturday, August 22, and had taken his furnishings with her.

Items missing included:  Coby DVD player, coffee table, dining table and four chairs, pantry shelf, large oscilating fan, dishes, and glass ware. The items had a combined estimated valued of $300.

The owner told deputies he would pursue prosecution in the case and would be obtaining a criminal summons against the renter.
