Lawrenceburg Council To Meet Thursday

   Members of the board that governs the City of Lawrenceburg will meet in regular session Thursday to consider a number of items of business.

   The Thursday, August 27, 2009, meeting of the Lawrenceburg Board of Mayor and Council is scheduled to get underway at 8:30 a.m. During the meeting a public hearing will be held regarding Ordinance 1055; the city’s 2009-2010 fiscal year budget ordinance. In addition, a grievance hearing is slated to be held just following the business meeting.

   Business items listed on the agenda include:

*Ordinance #1053 -- An ordinance to amend Ordinance 1048 and amend Section 15; Chapter 3; of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Code. An ordinance…to establish speed limits on certain city streets…Second and final reading.

*Ordinance #1054 -- An ordinance to amend Ordinance #1011, entitled the “Personnel Rules and Regulations” of the City of Lawrenceburg, Section V – Benefits; Item D. Sick leave, and to amend Title 4, Chapter 6; Section 4-604 (17)(b) and (18)(b)(c) of the Lawrenceburg Municipal Code regarding sick leave benefits  upon death of an active employee. Second  and final reading

*Ordinance number 1055 -- An ordinance…adopting a budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2009, through June 30, 2010.  Second and final reading

*Ordinance number 1056 -- An ordinance to establish the 2009 property tax rate; to levy taxes and to levy ad valorem taxes on all property, real and personal, within the corporate limits of the City of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, subject to taxation. Second and final reading

*Ordinance no. 1057 -- An ordinance to amend Ordinance no. 1042 entitled Budget Appropriations of Revenue and Expenditures for the 2008-2009

fiscal year for the City of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Second and final reading

   The sole resolution that appears on the agenda is a resolution…to reappoint Kenneth Whitley to the Lawrenceburg Beer Board.

   The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held inside the commission meeting room of the Lawrenceburg City Administration Building on West Gaines Street.
