Serving Of Warrant Results In Second Arrest Wednesday

A local woman was arrested by law enforcement officers on Wednesday after denying that a man they sought was on the property.

Jessica Louise Minks, age 27, was arrested on charges of giving false information and obstruction of justice.

Reports show that Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies had come to the 59 Morgan Road home to serve a warrant to Blazney Preston Kilburn, age 23. Deputies indicate that they asked Minks repeatedly whether Kilburn was on the property, but that she denied that he was.

They informed her that if he was found on the premises she would be arrested, as well, for harboring a criminal. They indicate that Minks continued to deny that Kilburn was present.

Kilburn was later found to have concealed himself inside a storm shelter at the rear of the home. He was reportedly in possession of a backpack at the time of his arrest. Inside was a set of scales and two straws, deputies said, that field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Kilburn was arrested on the outstanding warrant and was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Kilburn and Minks were transported for incarceration at the Lawrence County Detention Center.
