The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement for a heat and humidity advisory for Lawrence County.

 

 

The National Weather Service issued a Special Weather Statement on August 19th at 5:21a.m. with Lawrence County being affected along with following Counties: Houston, Dickson, Perry, Hickman, Stewart, Lewis, Wayne, Humphreys, and Montgomery.

The NWS advises that heat and humidity will increase across the area today with heat
index readings from 100 to 105 during the afternoon.

NWS also stated, "Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. Remember to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air conditioning when possible, and limit exposure to the sun. Be sure to check on relatives, neighbors, and the elderly. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes."
