Person Responsible For Damages Flees Prior To Arrival Of Deputies

Individuals responsible for damages to an Ethridge property fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement officers Sunday morning.

A Pleasant Valley Road resident reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that she had been awakened by a loud noise at 2:20 a.m. She said that she went outside and found that a motorist had driven off the roadway, running into her barbed wire fence.

The victim said that she heard the sound of people talking, but that another motorist arrived, pulled the vehicle back onto the roadway, and left before she was able to get a license plate number or a description of the person responsible.

The crash resulted in approximately $100 worth of damage to the resident’s fence. Investigation in the matter is on-going at the current time.
