Crash involving Amish buggy results in serious injuries

At least one person sustained serious injuries as the result of a crash involving an Amish buggy in Leoma Wednesday evening.Emergency personnel were dispatched to the crash site in the vicinity of 2397 Highway 43 South, at around 5:44 p.m. after a vehicle crashed into the Amish buggy.

Four persons were said to be injured in the crash. Three were transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Medical Center. One sustained more critical injuries and was airlifted for medical care at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.

The buggy was being pulled by two horses and authorities indicate that both were killed in the crash. At the present time the crash remains under investigation through the Lawrenceburg Police Department.
