Crime Report Wednesday

From reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department

Theft

   Deputies were called upon Tuesday to investigate the theft of radiators from a Knob Creek Road property. The owner reported someone had come onto the property without his permission and stole the items from some old vehicles parked there. In addition, the victim said the culprit broke windows from some of the vehicles. Loss is estimated to be $1,850.

Vandalism/attempted burglary

   A resident of Evans Road, Five Points, reported to deputies that someone had attempted to break into his home in the early hours Tuesday. The victim indicated he and his girlfriend had heard dogs barking, then the sound of breaking glass. When they stepped outside to investigation, he reports they saw two individuals fleeing from the side of the home.

Aggravated burglary

   A Hughes Road resident filed a complaint with deputies on Tuesday, indicating that items had been stolen from his home. While cutting the grass, the victim said he noticed someone had stolen his weed eater. He told deputies that his girlfriend’s jewelry box and jewelry had been stolen during the previous weekend and felt that the crimes were related. Total loss was said to be $1,310.

Theft

   Police officers were asked to investigate Tuesday when a Rabbit Trail Road resident discovered her vehicle was missing. The 2000 Ford Expedition was valued at $10,000. The victim said she must have left the keys inside the vehicle because her hands were full. The vehicle was not locked. Officers found the vehicle a couple of hours later at a Lawrenceburg business.

Theft over $500

   Police officers were dispatched to Dairy Queen on North Locust Avenue Monday evening. There an eighteen year old woman reported she had been eating outside and left without picking up her purse. She indicated she returned quickly, but that the purse was missing. The purse and contents had an estimated value of $665.
