Tuesday Crime Report

Crime Report

from reports filed with the Lawrenceburg Police Department and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department

Burglary

A Lawrenceburg resident summoned police officers to his 329 Deller Street property Saturday morning when he discovered his outbuilding had been burglarized. The victim, age 79, reported he did not reside at the address because the home had previously been destroyed by fire. While checking his outbuilding, however, he found that it had been forced open. Missing were a TV, riding lawnmower, tiller, washing machine, dryer, computer, entertainment center, and cordless drill valued at $2,550. Officers noted that due to the weight of most of the items, it appeared the crime had been committed by more than one perpetrator.

Vandalism

Deputies were summoned to 1800 Branch Drive Monday after the resident, age 82, discovered someone had run over her mailbox, knocking it from the post. She told deputies that the incident had occurred around 2:15 a.m. Loss was estimated to be $100.

Theft

Deputies responded to 11 Honeysuckle Lane, Summertown at 6:30 Monday morning. The resident reported the license plate had been stolen from his 2000 Mercury Villager while it was parked behind Debbie’s Mini Mart on U.S. Highway 43 on Friday. The owner reported he regularly parks his vehicle there in order to commute to his job. Loss was said to be $42.

Theft

A resident of Whitney Lane summoned deputies to his home early Monday when he discovered someone had stolen his 2000 model Big Dog chopper motorcycle, valued at $15,000. The victim stated he had pulled the motorcycle onto the sidewalk in front of his home the previous night in preparation of riding it to work the next morning. He told deputies he had not left the key accessible and was unsure when the bike was stolen.
