Investigation Opened Into Pill Bottles Discarded In Creek

An investigation was initiated during the weekend after a Summertown resident discovered numerous prescription pill bottles had been discarded in a creek adjacent to his home.

The resident, age 25, told Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies that he had noticed the bottles while mowing his lawn around 2:00 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday he gathered the bottles and bagged them to hand over to deputies.

The complainant reported his mother had been sick throughout the day. He said he feared the creek might have been contaminated, since they obtain their water from it.

Investigation into the matter has been relinquished to detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
