Dog Tears Up Front Door

A resident of the Richardson Acres Subdivision summoned the assistance of emergency personnel Wednesday when a strange dog began tearing through her front door.

When an officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department approached the 1708 Sundown Drive home shortly before 8:30 p.m., he reports that the German Shepherd dog was “attacking the front door.” Once he arrived, however, the officer reports the animal turned his attention to his patrol car.

The dog, he reports, began running about the police car, turning aggressively toward the driver’s door. After a time the officer was able to reach through the window, grab the back of the dog’s collar and immobilize him. While he held the dog the female resident retrieved a dog carrier and they were able to place the dog inside.

The resident told the officer that she had opened her door to let her dog in, and the German Shepherd came running inside, as well. She said that she was able to put the dog out, but that he immediately began tearing up her storm door.

Reports indicate that the animal did substantial damage to the door. Damages were estimated to total $300.
