Cars Burglarized Outside Iron City Industry

   Several cars were targeted by a burglar while parked outside an Iron City industry Monday; the owners inside working.

   Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department indicate that deputies were dispatched to Iron City Stamping Company, 3 Holly Creek Road, shortly after 2:30 p.m. There, they met with the owners of four vehicles.

   All four reported they had gone inside the industry to work around 12:30 p.m. When they returned to their vehicles around 2:30, they discovered their vehicles had been burglarized.

   According to reports, 240 compact discs, medication, cash, a cell phone charger, two pairs of sunglasses and a crimper were stolen from a 1996 Chevrolet S-10 belonging to William Matthew Killen, 27, of Loretto. Tool sets, a tool bag, skill saw and a cordless drill were reported stolen from a 1998 Ford F-150 belonging to Anthony Dale Yocom, 44, of Saint Joseph. Herman Joseph Ringling, 63, of Loretto reported a seven gallon air tank had been stolen from the bed of his 1997 Ford Ranger. Jamison Blake Holden, 25, of Iron City, reported a sun visor compact disc holder and cds were stolen from his 2000 Chevrolet S-10 as well as an air soft rifle.

   All of the vehicles, reports show, were parked on the west side of the building. Three of the vehicles were undamaged, however deputies report a window was broken from one of the trucks. Total loss is estimated at nearly $4,000.

   Around the time the burglaries were discovered witnesses reporting seeing a blue-over-gray Chevrolet S-10 truck passing by the industry on Holly Creek Road. Anyone who has information regarding the crime is urged to contact the sheriff’s department at 762-3626.
