Thieves siphon gas from truck

Lawrenceburg Now

Lawrenceburg Police officers spoke with an East Scott Street resident on Wednesday who reported that the gasoline was missing out of a truck on her property, and that someone had stolen her keys.

The victim, age 60, reported that someone had broken into her 2005 Chevrolet Equinox sometime after 8:30 the previous evening. She said all of her belongings had been removed from her glove compartment and console and discarded on the floorboard. The only thing that appeared to be missing was a set of keys.

While officers were on the scene, the complainant reported that gas had gone missing from a truck on the property, as well. She said that someone had siphoned around $30 worth of gas out of the vehicle.

Total loss was estimated at $31. The matter currently remains under investigation.
