Residents Awakened By Prowler On Roof
Loretto residents reported to authorities early Tuesday that they had been awakened by the sound of a prowler on their roof.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department answered the 1:57 a.m. call to 112 Rigling Road. The male resident reported that he had been awakened by the sound of someone walking on his roof. He reported that he went outside to check and found his ladder leaning against the house.
In addition, he said he noticed that his mailbox had been destroyed. He told deputies that he had looked around, but had not seen anyone lurking about the property.
Deputies report finding a baseball bat in the grass beside the driveway, near the badly beaten mailbox. In addition, they report finding that the mailboxes of at least four other homes on the roadway had also been destroyed.
