Race car driver succumbs to injuries

A driver who was critically injured in a crash at Thunderhill Raceway Saturday night has reportedly succumbed to her injuries.
  
The crash reportedly occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. when driver Melissa Cothran crashed into wall. She was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg, then airlifted to a hospital in Nashville.
  
Middle Tennessee Racing News reported this morning that Cothran had passed away early Sunday.
  
The crash currently remains under investigation.
