Sister Faces Charges After Attempting To Write Check

A  Lawrenceburg woman incurred criminal charges this week after she allegedly attempted to write a check on her sister’s account.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were summoned to Kuntry Kupboard, located on Highway 43 South in the Dunn area, after an employee became suspicious about the check.

The clerk reported that the woman had presented a check bearing the name of a former employee of the market. The clerk told officers that the woman had attempted to pass the check as if it belonged to her.

Authorities allege that the woman stole her sister’s checkbook, then attempted to pass the forged check.

As a result of the investigation Crystal Denise Gibson, age 28, was issued citations, charging her with the crimes of theft and forgery. Gibson is slated to answer the charge through Lawrence County General Sessions Court on September 6.
