Resident Reports Burglary Of Car, Bike, Tractor, Garage And Home

Law enforcement officials were summoned to a Leoma area home Friday morning after the resident discovered burglars had targeted not only his home, but also his car, garage, and tractor.

Reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department show that unknown persons stopped at the 8 Rabbit Trail Road residence, stealing the wheels, tires and radiator from his 1964 Chevrolet. While checking about the resident discovered the boom had been stolen off his tractor and his bike had been taken.

Thieves apparently made entry through a garage window. Inside they reportedly took several items including tools and a refrigerator, then turned their attention to the house. Deputies found that the intruder entered through a sliding glass door. The only item reported missing there was an antique rocking chair.

Reports show that a neighbor had noticed a suspicious character about the home. He told the resident that the man was driving a white Lincoln with a blue top, pulling a trailer that was loaded with a refrigerator. The driver, he reported, had a “big spot” on his face.

Authorities are working to hone in on potential suspects thanks to the observances of the neighbor. They continue to urge area residents to notify law enforcement officials as quickly as possible, should you see unusual activity about the property of your neighbors.
