Husband And Wife Driving Separately Report Reckless Driver

A husband and wife driving separate vehicles in the Revilo Road area Sunday summoned deputies to the scene after they were run off the roadway by a reckless driver.

According to reports filed through the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched on the call around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

The female driver, age 63, reported she had left their Rosson Road home a few minutes ahead of her husband, encountering the reckless driver a short distance away from their home. She told deputies the driver of the silver Ford Explorer passed her, nearly causing her to hit the ditch. The driver, she said, continued traveling in the direction of Peach Road.

The male driver, 64, indicated he encountered the driver in the area of Revilo Road. In a curve, he said the driver passed him recklessly, forcing him off the roadway. After passing him, the victim said the man tossed a beer can from his window, onto a resident’s lawn, then sped away.

The couple informed deputies that the vehicle bore Giles County plates and were able to provide a possible plate number. When deputies ran the number, however, they discovered it was not on file.

Deputies were unable to locate the vehicle in the area. Investigation into the matter is continuing at the current time.
