Charges Placed In Friday Domestic Assault
Charges were issued against a Lawrenceburg man Friday after witnesses reported he had assaulted a woman who was lying unconscious on the ground outside their apartment building.
Lawrenceburg Police Officers responded to 1707 Mahr Avenue shortly before 8:00 p.m. Witnesses told officers that the man had dragged the woman while she was on the ground. They pointed to where she still lay motionless on the sidewalk behind the building.
One officer reports that he ran in that direction, then ran past the woman to assist when he noticed another officer was holding her attacker at gunpoint. Milton Everett Ollinger, 49, was placed under arrest on one count of domestic assault and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center.
Once Ollinger was apprehended, the officer checked on the victim, noting that she had regained consciousness. Both parties, reports show, were intoxicated.
The victim told officers that the incident was the result of a misunderstanding and indicated she did not wish to participate in Ollinger’s prosecution.
Ollinger is scheduled for an initial appearance in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 4, 2011.
