Tuesday Crime Report

From reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police and Lawrence County Sheriff’s Departments

Theft

   Police officers were called to a home on Second Street last week where the resident reported a camper and vehicle had been burglarized. The culprit rummaged through the camper, taking a ring of keys and a jar containing around $50 in change. A neighbor’s mail was found inside the resident’s 2008 Kia along with a 12 pack of Sundrop that had been moved from her husband’s semi truck. Two packs of cigarettes were missing from the semi. Loss was estimated at $107.

Theft

   A Lawrenceburg woman reported to police officers last week that her purse had been stolen while she was moving from one home to another. She said she had placed her purse in her car beneath a stack of clothing and went back inside the apartment to collect additional items. Later, she realized someone had taken the purse.

Theft

   On Friday a Lawrenceburg man reported a GPS device, cell phone charger, DVDs and Sanyo portable DVD player had been stolen from his vehicle while he was incarcerated. He told officers that he had allowed a relative to use his vehicle and had obtained information indicating that the relative had sold at least one of the items. He said he was uncertain about the whereabouts of his vehicle, but believed it might be at the police impound lot. Loss was estimated at $247.98.

Burglary

   Officers were called to a Second Street home Saturday after a resident found that a CD player had been stolen from her 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche. At the time of the theft the vehicle was parked inside her garage. Loss was approximately $400.

Theft

   On Sunday officers were called to a home on Windsor Avenue where a resident reported her food stamp card and jewelry had been stolen. The victim was uncertain as to the extent of her loss. She told officers she would inventory her belongings and make a list of missing items.

Aggravated burglary

   Deputies were called to a Penney Road home in Saint Joseph on Sunday were the resident reported his home had been burglarized. Drawers had been rummaged through. A Lorcin .22 pistol had been stolen from atop a kitchen cabinet, and around $90 worth of rolled change was stolen as well. The resident said the thief took only the rolled quarters and dimes, leaving behind the nickels and pennies. Other high-dollar items were left undisturbed. Entry was made through an unsecured window on the back porch. Loss is said to be $190.

Aggravated burglary

   A resident of Barnesville Road in Summertown reported to deputies Friday that someone had broken into his daughter’s home while she was away on vacation. The rear door had been pried open. Taken were items of jewelry, a Kindle electronic reader, and change from a jar. Loss is estimated to total $3,560.

Theft

   Deputies were dispatched to Frazier Lane in Leoma Saturday where the resident reported his German Shepherd/Chow mix dog, valued at $500, had been stolen. The victim suspects that the dog was stolen by someone driving through the neighborhood.

Burglary

   Deputies were called to Summertown Dixie Youth Ball Park on Saturday after a burglary was discovered at the concession stand. Reports show that someone had pried open a shutter, then busted the glass and wooden frame of a window in order to gain access. Nothing appeared to be missing however damages were estimated to total $125.

Theft

   On Friday deputies were called to Garland Road where the property owner reported someone had stolen a 2003 Yamaha Kodiak four wheeler. The ATV, valued at $2,500, was last seen at the property on July 20. Tractors and other equipment were left undisturbed.

Theft

   On Sunday deputies answered a call to a Kennedy Drive home in Saint Joseph. The resident reported that a silver iPOD touch had been stolen along with $27 in cash. He said he suspected the items were stolen a few days prior when he had left his residence while two men were still on the premises. He estimated loss at $267.
