Four Arrests Spawned By Undercover Drug Investigation

   An undercover drug investigation conducted by local law enforcement officials has resulted in the arrest of four Lawrenceburg residents.

   According to officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department, the case was made through the department’s Crime Suppression Unit.

   On Saturday, July 19, acting on confidential information, agents with the department began conducting surveillance at a home located at 316 May Street, Lawrenceburg.

   Agents discovered a large number of vehicles were stopping at the home briefly, after which the drivers would move on. After a period agents had established enough probable cause to obtain a search warrant, issued by Lawrence County Judge Patricia McGuire.

   The following day agents executed the search warrant at the home. Inside they report finding that resident Gary Forsythe was in possession of five bags of marijuana, a .38 caliber revolver, $154 in cash believed to believed to be the proceeds of illegal drug sales, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

   While conducting the search agents report that Amy Jenkins entered the residence and placed an order for $10 worth of marijuana from one of the investigators “who posed as a drug dealer.”

   Shortly thereafter, agents report a vehicle arrived and agents concealed themselves in a room at the rear of the home. They report witnessing two females purchase ¼ pound (4 ounces) of marijuana from Forsythe.

   As a result of the operation, officials indicate that evidence against Forsythe and Jenkins, as well as Tracy Randolph and Tamika Wallace will b presented to the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
