Man Who Swallowed Pills To Avoid Arrest Reports Truck Stolen

A Lawrenceburg man who claimed he had swallowed a large number of pills in order “to keep from going to jail” overnight Saturday, reported later that his truck had been stolen.

Lawrenceburg Police Officers were first notified about a possible suicide attempt at the man’s Waterloo Road home. They were then notified that the man was being transported by ambulance to Crockett Hospital.

The 28-year-old told medical personnel that he had been pulled over by a police officer earlier and had “ate a bunch of Xanax” in order to avoid “going to jail.”

The man told officers that he and a friend had been drinking throughout the day and “were doing Jello shooters with pills in them.”

The victim stated that he could not remember “what happened the rest of the night,” but indicated that his friend had taken his truck without having had permission to do so. He indicated that he had received several calls from individuals who had seen someone in his truck who had been “out vandalizing cars.”
