Authorities Investigate Phone Sex Involving Leoma Juveniles

Lawrence County law enforcement officials were called upon by parents to launch an investigation Wednesday after they discovered their teen daughter and her friends had been involved in the sending and receiving of sexually explicit messages through a cell phone.

The parents of a fifteen-year-old first reported the incident to Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies on Wednesday. The parents indicated they had been made aware of the matter by their daughter, who had become concerned about the situation.

According to reports, the matter involved three teen girls, ages 14, 15 and 16. During the two-month situation, authorities allege that partially nude photos of at least one of the girls was sent by cell phone to a twenty-four-year-old male. In addition, authorities indicate the male sent photos of body parts to the girls, as well as ones depicting oral sex.

The parents told deputies that they had spoken with the parents of one of the other girls, but that they were not interested in reporting the matter to law enforcement officials.

Reports show that the male involved is cooperating with the investigation, sending authorities copies of photos that had been forwarded to him. Investigators have been able to obtain copies of the photos along with a copy of the cell phone records, and some written statements.

Investigation is continuing in the matter at the current time through the department’s Crime Suppression Unit.
