Victim Tips Officials To Location Of Stolen Property

A Leoma man contacted law enforcement officials on Sunday to report he had located at least one piece of property that had been stolen from him.

The victim reported to deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that items belonging to him had been stolen from the home of his former girlfriend, along with some of her property.

The victim reported that a droplight, pressure washer and 25 foot braided metal hose belonging to him had been stolen from a home on Richardson Avenue. Several other items were stolen during the commission of the crime, including pieces of jewelry.

The victim told deputies that he had driven past the home of an individual he suspected of committing the crime and spotted his droplight. He said he then drove straight to the sheriff’s department to file a report.

The victim’s loss is estimated to total $870. Investigation in the matter is on-going.
