Traveler Reports He Was Abandoned And His Possessions Stolen

   A man traveling from Alabama, back to his home in Missouri reported to law enforcement officials early Thursday that his travel mate had abandoned him while he was inside a Lawrenceburg store.

   The complainant, age 30, reported to Lawrenceburg Police Officers just before 1:00 a.m. that he had been traveling back to his home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, accompanied by a friend he knew only as “Leroy.” He said that they stopped at the Lawrenceburg Walmart store on North Locust Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and he went inside to buy some food. When he emerged a few moments later, he reports that his friend was nowhere to be found.

   The victim stated that he remained at the business for three hours but that his friend never returned. Afterwards he made his way to Travelers Motel.

   The matter remains under investigation at the present time through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
