Store Employees Chase Down Thief

   Employees at a Lawrenceburg store were able to chase down a would-be thief Monday and recover property stolen from the business.

   The crime occurred at Swap and Shop Center, 824 North Military Avenue, shortly before 1:30 Monday afternoon. Lawrenceburg Police Department reports show that employees noticed a man in the parking lot who was attempting to load two Husqvarna chain saws into his vehicle, without paying for them.

   According to reports, the employees made their way to the parking lot and confronted the man. When confronted, he turned and fled.

   The employees gave chase across the parking lot. Reports indicate the perpetrator dropped both chain saws before leaving the lot.

   The employees were able to recover both chain saws, valued at $438.00. The suspect, however, was not apprehended.

   The suspect is described as a white male, 6 foot, three inches tall with brown hair, and approximately 23 years of age. Anyone who has information pertinent to the investigation is urged to contact the department at 762-2276.
