Milling First through Sixth Streets

The City of Lawrenceburg wishes to advise residents in this section of the city that in preparing to pave portions of the streets listed above, the city has entered into a contract for the milling of the asphalt.

Before these streets can be milled, overhanging trees will have to be cut back, to prevent damage to the machinery.  We anticipate the pruning to begin July 25, 2011.

After this project, the city plans to implement a tree trimming program for the entire city.  Overhanging branches damage city equipment and do not allow for emergency vehicles to approach certain areas.

Your neighbors overhanging trees may prevent the fire truck from getting close to your house during a fire or other emergency.

The City will also begin clearing around fire hydrants.  Citizens may feel hydrants located on their lawn is unsightly and try to cover them with plants. This defeats the purpose of having a hydrant located there.  Firefighters cannot find the disguised hydrant during an emergency and may increase the loss of life and property damage.

We ask our citizens to please consider your neighbors when planting or pruning.  The life or property you help save may be your own or your next door neighbor.
