Attempted Murder Charges Placed In Wake Of Stabbing

 Attempted murder charges placed in wake of stabbing

   A Lawrenceburg man was arrested on attempted murder charges in the wake of a stabbing incident that resulted in serious injuries to another individual Sunday evening.

   Reports indicate that the altercation took place around 10:00 p.m. at a home situated at 213C Lawrence Street. Lawrenceburg Police Officers received a call to a home where they found victim Derrick Dunkle, age 28, had been stabbed. Dunkle, who was bleeding from his abdominal area, was transported via medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for medical attention.

   As a result of the incident the alleged aggressor, William Franklin Stone, 45, was apprehended at his 215 South Military Avenue home. Stone was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Jail where he was booked under charges of attempted second degree murder.

   Stone appeared before Lawrence County General Sessions Judge Patricia McGuire Monday morning for a bond hearing. McGuire denied bond and ordered that Stone appear for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, July 28, 2009.
