A violation of probation warrant turned into a narcotics bust for Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's office was serving a violation of probation warrant on Sunday on Chelsea Tompkins at Pine Bluff Bluff Apartments when deputies found narcotics and drug paraphernalia.

Once deputies arrived Tompkins opened the door and in plain view was a digital scale that's when Deputies secured the residence where they applied for a search warrant.

After the warrant was authorized, a search of the residence was conducted which resulted in deputies finding approximately 6 grams of meth, 12 alprazolam pills, 4.5 sublingual pills, and a host of paraphernalia items.

Tompkins and David Roemer were arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of Alprazolam for resale, simple possession of sublingual, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also Lorraine Harper who was involved in the matter, was arrested on charges of possession of methamphetamine for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Deputies stated a small child around the age of 2 was also found inside the apartment where the majority of the narcotics were easily accessible to the child, and all 3 suspects were charged with one count of child neglect.

Sheriff John Myers spoke on the matter by saying, "I'm disgusted with the notion that a child was in the presence of drugs in this matter. Adding to that disgust is the fact that this little girl could have accessed the substances and caused harm to herself. I'm proud that my deputies were able to intervene in this situation and bring those who were involved to justice."
