Unknown woman stabs man walking on a Lawrenceburg street

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrenceburg man who sustained stab wounds last week told police officers that he had never before met the woman who stabbed him.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were called to Cecil Street when a concerned neighbor reported hearing what might have been a gunshot. She said the sound was followed by a lot of raised voices, one of which said he had been stabbed and needed to go to the hospital.

Police officers found a trail of blood that led along a driveway and up the front steps at one house. A woman inside told them that the man who had been stabbed had already been taken to the hospital. Officers then made their way to the hospital.

The victim told officers that he had been walking along the street when he saw a woman he knew out in her yard. He said he stopped to talk to her when two women in a car stopped in the street.

One of the women got out and began to argue with some residents about a cell phone charger. He said he wasn’t really paying attention, but that the woman suddenly lunged at him, stabbing him on the arm. The two women then left the area.

Reports show that the man had a large cut on his arm that was wrapped up. He also had blood on his hands, pants, and lower stomach area.

Investigation in the case is on-going.
