The 2nd Annual Adam Garland Memorial Scholarship 7 on 7 Football Tournament July 30
The 2nd Annual Adam Garland Memorial Scholarship 7 on 7 Football Tournament will be held July 30, 2011 at the Lawrence County High School (LCHS) Soccer Field in Lawrenceburg, TN. The event will follow traditional flag football rules.
The football tournament seeks to raise funds for the Adam Garland Scholarship Foundation and it’s mission to provide an LCHS senior football player with a college scholarship.
“The tournament is the primary funding source for the scholarship and the most appropriate way to preserve the memory of my late friend and his love of football,” stated event coordinator Chad Shannon.
Garland, a 2002 LCHS graduate and a former member of the Wildcat Football Team, perished in a traffic accident on Christmas Eve 2005. He leaves behind a wife and three young daughters.
Registration for the 7 on 7 Football Tournament continues now through July 30, 2011. The entrance fee is $100.00 for a seven to ten man roster. Teams are encouraged to register prior to the day of the event. All proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.
