Dinner On The Boards

The Lawrenceburg Community Theatre announces its first “Dinner on the Boards” production at the historic Crockett Theater, giving audiences a chance to be on the stage with the actors in a dinner theatre setting.

The comedy-murder mystery Out of Sight . . . Out of Murder, directed by Dolly B. Leighton, will keep audiences laughing as they try to guess who will be “bumped off” next and “who-dun-it.”

The dinner theatre format will include a catered meal at 6 p.m., followed by the performance at 7 p.m., on Fri-Sat, August 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29. Patrons will be seated on stage at tables for eight, with only 56 seats at seven tables available for each performance.

Caterer Rose Ann Phillips is planning a meal including two choices of meat, a salad, two vegetables, dinner roll, dessert, and tea or optional coffee.  Patrons will be asked to specify either roast beef or chicken when purchasing tickets.

Early sales of complete tables for eight will begin Friday, July 17, and continue through July 31 with $2 off individual tickets ($23 each or $184 per table).  Tables may be reserved by Emailing lctcrockett@bellsouth.net or by calling the director, Dolly B. Leighton, at 762-9275.  Payment will be due by Saturday, August 1, to hold a table.

On Monday, August 3, individual tickets at $25 each will go on sale.  Tickets will be available for purchase Monday through Friday in the lobby of the Crockett Theater from 10:00 until 2:00 daily until all tickets are sold.

Individual tickets may also be reserved on or after August 3 by Emailing lctcrockett@bellsouth.net; however, payment must be received by the Wednesday before the reserved performance or reservations will be cancelled.  A waiting list will be kept in case of cancelled reservations.

Checks should be payable to Lawrenceburg Community Theatre and mailed to LCT at P. O. Box 417, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464.  After payment, tickets will be available for early pick up during individual sales in the Crockett Theater lobby or will be held at the door on the night reserved.  For more information go to www.lawrenceburgcommunitytheatre.org.

Out of Sight . . . Out of Murder by Fred Carmichael tells the improbable tale of an author who, through a cosmic event during a thunderstorm, is visited by the characters in his murder mystery who help him write the novel.

Other than the author (Michael Bradley) and the caretaker (Diane Bailey) of his rented Lawrence County mansion, the stock characters include the actress (Erica Sanders), the old character lady (Kaye Luffman), the butler (Mike Campbell), the ingénue (KeriBeth Wilkins), the juvenile (Andy Johnson), the maid (Murphee Wright), and the lawyer (Blake Barnett).

Other than the director, the production staff includes stage manager Jenifer Cull, costumer Wanda Maib, properties manager Rebecca Smith, and technical director Jim Bradley.
